TIPS is a business accelerator program organized by the South Korean Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises. Program operators identify, evaluate and select emerging startups based on the merit of their business potential. Once selected for the program, participating startups are matched with program operators to provide mentorship and are eligible to apply for R&D grants, investment matching funds, and business grants to be used for strategic consulting services. and transaction support.

In its bid to be selected as the operator of the TIPS program, KAIST, building on its success in launching emerging tech startups in South Korea, has partnered with Checkmate, a consultancy and investment group based in Los Angeles with expertise in cross-border marketing.
