Manama: An Indonesian parliamentary delegation led by His Excellency Mr. Nono Sampono, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament, visited the Bahrain Banking and Financial Institute (BIBF) to learn more about training programs and strategies, especially in the field of Islamic finance. The delegation – received by BIBF Director Dr. Ahmed Al-Shaikh – also discussed means of cooperation between the Institute and financial institutions in Indonesia.
At the start of the visit, Dr. Al-Shaikh briefed the delegation on the important role BIBF plays in supporting the banking and financial sector in Bahrain and the region, providing its world-class expertise and capabilities to employees working in industry. , particularly in the field of Islamic finance, which makes it one of the world leaders in training in this field.
The delegation was also introduced to BIBF’s flagship academic and professional programs which are developed in cooperation with some of the world’s leading academic and training institutions, with a particular focus on Islamic finance; given the growing demand for this service across the world.
During the visit, Dr. Al-Shaikh stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between BIBF and other banking financial institutions in the region and the world, as part of the Institute’s vision to improve human capital performance in line with the latest international best practices.
Welcoming the outstanding performance of BIBF, His Excellency Mr. Sampono said, “We look forward to strengthening collaboration with BIBF to transfer its wealth of knowledge and expertise to Indonesian institutions working in the banking and financial sector. In addition to strengthening Bahrain-Indonesia ties, this collaboration would also improve the performance of the Indonesian banking sector, especially in the area of Islamic banking.
At the end of the visit, the delegation visited the facilities of the BIBF building, applauding the unique performance of the Institute, its advanced capabilities, as well as the excellent technical support provided to students and interns.
