Mexican credit card startup hits $1.2 billion valuation

By Elaine Briseño (July 15, 2022, 3:13 p.m. EDT) — Credit card provider Stori SA de CV has joined the ranks of Mexico’s billion-dollar startups with a $150 million funding round that valued l $1.2 billion company, Stori announced Friday.

The fintech said the round includes a $50 million equity investment from BAI Capital, GIC Private Ltd. and GGV Capital. Other investors included Lightspeed Venture Partners, General Catalyst, Vision Plus Capital, Goodwater Capital, Tresalia Capital and Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP.

Stori launched in 2018 and offers credit cards to what it calls underserved populations, including those who need a card to help build their credit history.
